About the Department

The Wholesale Bank function operates a dynamic business model that provides financial services and solutions to help our clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies (small medium enterprises), large corporations, financial institutions as well as multinational corporations. Our coverage teams work in full alignment with specialised teams across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets and Group Retail to deliver seamless solutions to our clients.


Job Responsibilities

Digital product managers are responsible for managing the development of digital products. This includes everything from product construct to process improvement & transformation into digital manner. He/she will work with a variety of different teams—Compliance, Legal, Credit, Sales and Operation, etc.—to ensure that product meets the needs of its intended audience.

  • Drive the execution of all processes in the digital product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch
  • Lead self-service e-KYC based digital acquisition (Savings, Fixed deposits) & lending for the Bank
  • Optimize Business by lowering costs through digitization of processes.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and final development by engineering teams
  • Create digital product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI
  • Analyze market data to develop sales strategies, and define product objectives for effective marketing communications
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders including technical vendors, internal IT, Compliance, Legal, Credit, Marketing, and sales teams in the development, QA, and release of products, and balance resources to ensure success for the entire organization
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates UOB digital product proposition across primary market segments

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years’ work-experience in digital banking product management and/or retail consumer facing product in Banks or Financial institutions.
  • Exposure to digital business models like e-commerce, B2B, B2C marketplaces is desirable.
  • Must have hands-on micro-services experience where API-first architecture design has been implemented
  • Strong understanding/focus on digital technologies and platform ecosystems and how this are impacting the Retail banking industry
  • Strong experience in consumer/commercial facing product management and design thinking
  • Strategic thinker: Understands the overall ambitions/ strategy of the organisation, and how the ambitions can be realized
  • Good execution skills: Able to implement strategies by thinking through steps of implementation, taking operational decisions, and putting personal effort as needed
  • Understands concepts like banking from cloud, IoT, API gateways, and biometrics. Ability to appreciate the benefits that the use of technology can bring to the business
