Our Finland locations include Vantaa and Joensuu, employing over 700 professionals supporting functions such as production, instrument and reagent manufacturing, R&D, marketing, sales, quality, administrative support and supply chain. We hire experts in different fields including engineering, chemistry, microbiology and bioinformatics. Our Vantaa site develops and manufactures pipettes, microplate instruments, magnetic particle processing systems as well as clinical chemistry and industrial chemistry analyzers, laboratory automation solutions and food safety kits. It is conveniently located close to the Vantaankoski railway station.
How will you make an impact
We are currently recruiting for a (Sr.) Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D Mechanics team in Vantaa to work with Analyzers and Automation business to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. You may be a more experienced professional. You enjoy working with high technology products and have good collaboration skills but also ability to work independently in a fast pace working environment. You will be working in R&D projects with different multi-functional collaborators like project and product managers as well as software, usability, verification and validation engineers.
A day in the Life:
- Research and develop high technology products
- Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability
- Discuss and solve complex problems with manufacturing department and subcontractors
- Participate product sustaining
Keys to Success:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in science (preferably mechanical engineer degree)
- 5 years’ work experience in mechanical design / R&D role
- Experience of 3D CAD programs, preferably SolidWorks
- Experience in designing special purpose equipment/machinery
- Creative approach to problem-solving
- Good spoken and written language skills (English and Finnish)
- Passion towards continuous improvement, high quality and willingness to own and be accountable for design decisions
- Analytical problem solver. Able to resolve sophisticated problems independently and with the team
- Ability to get results and make necessary trade-offs effectively for multiple tasks simultaneously
- Industry background - medical devices / healthcare / instrumentation
