About Our Opportunity
The Collections Access Librarian is a key member of the Collections Access Team. The Team supports the collaborative development, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of the digital systems shared by the Same Page library consortium.
The Librarian supervises and works collaboratively with the cataloguing team to ensure that all items in the Same Page catalogue are described accurately and appropriately. The Librarian leads work related to both the Same Page discovery layer and shared digital media collection. They also play a key role in providing support for the Integrated Library System.
Primary Accountabilities
- Supervises, and manages the performance of, a team of four cataloguers, ensuring that:
- resources in the catalogue are catalogued appropriately.
- that the cataloguers’ work is efficient, consistent, and accurate.
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders and members of the Team to facilitate decision making for, and optimize the configuration of, the shared discovery layer.
- Works collaboratively with stakeholders to develop the Same Page Digital Media Collection in accordance with the collection development policy.
- Develops and maintains sufficient knowledge of the integrated library system to support and maintain the system to assist with supporting and maintaining the system.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role you have a Bachelor’s degree, a post-graduate degree in Library Science, and 2 years of professional library experience.
As the ideal candidate, you have:
- Experience working with integrated library systems and/or discovery layers.
- Experience with library catalogue end users and/or end users of electronic resources.
- Experience developing and promoting library collections.
- Knowledge of, and an interest in, cataloguing standards, processes, and procedures.
- Supervisory experience
- Work well as part of a team and have experience leading teams.
- Thorough understanding of library operations.

- Are analytical with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Are able to effectively organize work, develop effective work processes and assess work priorities.
- Are accurate, meticulous, and vigilant in completing your work.
- Are self-directed with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively and work productively and collaboratively with a variety of individuals and groups in a complex and rapidly changing environment.
- Are able to quickly learn new technologies and stay current with technological developments in libraries.
- Are able to demonstrate and understand the value of equity, diversity and inclusion.

Pay Grade: PR 12
Salary Range: $2,446.01 - $2,967.83 Bi-Weekly
