Here's what our employees told us about working here:
"I love my job! I have made many memories here and met so many meaningful people here. My coworkers are my family away from family. I worked over twenty jobs. And I am glad that I have finally found the job I could work at until I retire."
- Stephen W., Correctional Officer, 3 years & 7 months of service
“One thing that really makes this job stand out from all others is that every day is different. I never thought I would work my entire career in one place but after 19 years I still find every day has something happen that keeps it interesting.”
- Leidholt, Sergeant, 20 years of service
"What I really like about working for Minnehaha County is the unique ways we approach helping people get their lives back on track through groundbreaking programs like 24/7, EM, Specialty Courts and the Safe House. I have seen people come in to do business with us after years of not being part of our clientele and they tell me how these programs saved their lives. I never get tired of hearing these success stories and seeing how healthy they look. When I tell them how proud I am of them, at the same time I am proud to be part of an agency that cares that much about the people we serve, that we want them to succeed and become productive members of society. This job is always challenging, never boring, and I love the 12-hour shift scheduling. Not sure I could get used to working five days a week anymore."
- Pat H., Corrections System Operator, 19 years & 4 months of service
