Finance Manager [Canada]


 

Job Description:


Our Client is seeking a highly motivated Finance Manager to join their small internet based business based in Victoria BC, with employees around the world. The ideal candidate will have experience as a full cycle accountant and manage the accounting function for a recurring revenue internet company. We’re looking for a self starter who is highly motivated and is excited to join a fast paced, growing technology company in the remote work space. This role will assist the CEO, and will be a key member of the team from day one. We look for partners and people we can trust to do the job to the highest standard at every level.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of accounting and finance operations, including accounts payable and receivable, cash management, and financial reporting.

  • Process payroll and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements.

  • Manage and maintain accounting software, (Xero).

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Liaise with external auditors and tax professionals as needed.

  • Provide analysis and insights to the CEO.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance.

  • Experience with a fully remote work environment.

  • Strong proficiency in accounting software, specifically Xero.

  • Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills. You don’t need anyone looking over your shoulders to get your job done correctly!

  • CPA designation preferred, but not required.
