Summary:
- Under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor or Laboratory Director, the Phlebotomist assumes the responsibility for being proficient in phlebotomy, specimen processing, and L.I.S. data entry and retrieval. A Phlebotomist may be assigned to one discipline, however, he/she will maintain proficiency in the remaining disciplines. This position must demonstrate competency with infants, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Other duties are, but not limited to, processing of Lab referral paperwork, collecting information and reports, data entry, answering phones, and report distribution.
Requirements:
- Current California Phlebotomy Certification required and BLS Certification.
- Hospital experience preferred.
- Must be able to work every other weekend. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
